Simple Holographic Chrome Powder & Gold Leaf Nail Design – Quick and Easy
September 4, 2019
Hi everybody, I’m Kirsty Meakin from Naio Nails and look how cuddly and warm I am in here. It’s not warm out there. In this video, I’m gonna show you how to combine Chrome and Gold leaf and do simple design just for you guys. We do it on this nail. I’m gonna wipe over this nail with the Gel Residue Wipe-off solution first, Gonna make it nice and clean. I’m gonna use the Urban Graffiti Topcoat, so this has no sticky layer. It’s a no wipe topcoat. I am using my left hand, I’m right-handed guys. Please don’t judge me. Adam: do you really think people judge you for that. Kirsty: Yeah because they’ll be like, She’s really rubbish at that Adam: you are shaking a bit Kirsty: And I will start shaking when it’s that hand. Adam: So, the pressure getting to you? Kirsty: Just I think…yeah, omg I’m using left hand i just can’t do it I’m going to use the Holographic Chrome. I have a great big pot of it because I am really greedy. Because I love it so much. So, we’re gonna take some …Imagine how long that pot’s gonna last. Gonna last me a long time and I might tap it on, then I’m gonna start to move up. Adam: As you rub you just get to see the Holographicness? Kirsty: Yeah! Adam: It’s like revealing a rainbow. Kirsty: It’s beautiful, ain’t it? It is like revealing a rainbow, you’re right. And the more you rub it, the shinier it gets as well, so really burnish it into the nail. That’s not that bad with me, the old left hand. Oh yes! Look at the rainbows! Adam: Girl done good Kirsty: I’m gonna dust off the excess. You put my hand in front of the nail and really annoy Adam. That is a bit gorgeous. So, the next part is we’re going to seal that in and we’re just gonna cure this for 10 seconds. We want it to be slightly rubbery. Kirsty: Is rubbery a word?
Adam: Yes. Kirsty: I do sometimes think I’ve picked those words up as a child and they don’t even exist. Make sure you cap the edge when you’re painting that on. Can see a little… Little bit there, that isn’t quite smooth and I’m gonna pop that in the lamp. Then we’re gonna use the Gold Leaf. We need to tear this up. Just gonna use an orange woodstick to just tear up pieces. You can even use, you can use if you want to, to sort of tear it apart, some little shards and like just little crackling pieces. Nothing too big either. You can take a brush, pick them up with a brush. press that on. Give it a rub plus smooth it. Press it and smooth it and press and smooth and press and smooth. Kirsty: Do you like that song?
Adam: I thought it was marvellous. Kirsty: I think I’ve always been destined to be a songwriter from an early age. And press and smooth! Like a jingle maker. Adam: Jingle maker. Kirsty: Yeah, if there is such a job description. Adam: With the Gold leaf, you just have to press and smooth, press and smooth. Kirsty & Adam: Press and smooth! Adam: With jingle you need to give like some instruction throughout. It’s like… Kirsty: Will I say just press and smooth? Is that not enough instructions? Adam: Not really because… Kirsty: That was very Shake and Vac and put the freshness back, do the shake and vac and put the freshness back
Adam: …the jingle Adam: Mm-hmm! Kirsty: Oh my God! When was that? In the 80s. Adam: I think it started in the 70s, I think. Kirsty: Yeah, Oh my God!I don’t know , I’m so old. Adam: Oh yes! Kirsty: Yeah, somebody said, ”I can’t believe that girl is in her 40’s.” I’m not in my 40s yet. Damn girl, you can’t do the maths. Adam: Well… Kirsty: Don’t even go there! Do you need patience with this? I don’t have patience with a lot of things, but I do with nails. Adam: This is like a leprechaun nail, isn’t it? It’s like the gold at the end of the rainbow. Kirsty: Oh yes! It is now. It is, it is! I’m such a really rubbish accent maker. Is that a job title as well. I think the contrast of that gold with the holographic actually looks pretty damn gorgeous. So, what I’m gonna do now is I’m gonna seal this with the Urban Graffiti topcoat. We’re gonna put two coats on, we’re gonna put one coat on, we’re gonna cure it for 30 seconds and then, we are gonna put a second coat on and fully cure that. The reason we are going to half-cure the first coat is because both layers of the Gel Polish top coat will sort of stick together better. So, they’ll adhere to each other as they cure. We’re gonna gently pick this up and hope that it’s gonna stay at one-piece and go back in. Adam: Is it really that delicate?
Kirsty: Yeah! Look. Adam: I have never…Is this what they put in vodka? Kirsty: Yeah! Adam: Can you remember that, what was it called? Gold schlagger? And it was like vodka with Gold Leaf, I think. Kirsty: Yeah! Well, they put real Gold Leaf in them. I don’t think I have a stomach digest that I mean, I don’t think I’d be eating some of that. Shall we eat some of that and see what happens? Adam: I’m not really that hungry if I’m honest Kirsty: Wait till then. Adam: Alright! I’ll have gold steak. Kirsty: Yeah, gold steak! Oh my God! Can we YouTube that please? I’m gonna finish this with Cuticle Oil. It’s so cold out there, my fingers are in desperate need of Cuticle Oil. What a beautiful combination! Simple but effective. That’s what they say to me. The simple part anyway. So, there you are, guys. I hope you’ve enjoyed that video and it’s helped you to learn something new, little bit different but simple, easy to replicate in the salon. Products that I’ve used today will be listed below. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already. I’m so cuddly in this. I just want to cuddle myself. Feel like a bit of a teddy bear. And now guess what? As I always say… What am I going to say? Kirsty: I’ll see you in the next video! Adam: See you in the next video! Kirsty: See you in the next video! Bye! We gonna need to check sugar, and strength. Adam: Let me open it for you. Kirsty: Open by hand it says on it. Adam: Yeah, but you’re using finger and thumb, not hand. Kirsty: It will not defeat me Adam: I can open it for you. Kirsty: I doing it, look at this. I am a strong independent woman.
Adam: I can open it for you. Kirsty: I don’t know *** look at this. I am a strong independent woman. Adam: You can open a bottle of Lucozade. Kirsty: Oh yeah! Adam: Didn’t get out the car to help me dig out the car, did you? Kirsty: No! I thought that’s a man’s job. Yeah.
