Tig Welding Stainless Pipe – Keyhole Welding and Tight Bead

Keyhole welding and tight bead Hello. Today, we made a video about keyhole welding and a dense bead. I’d appreciate it if you could press “subscribe” and “Like.” This is a 100A (4 inch) SCH10 Stainless 304 pipe. Pipe thickness is 3.05mm. I’m going to do this welding today. Today we did “Tack-weld” using stainless steel plates. I just want you to know that there’s a “tack-welding” method. It is convenient to use this method for welding practice welding. When welding the product, use “bridge TACK” or “revolving rod Then it’s probably neat to cut and weld the “Tack-weld.” You know, when you’re “tack-welding” with steel plates… “Tack-weld” in one direction only, and “Tack-weld” in the other direction or not. That way, you can easily tear out the iron plate. Once you’ve torn off the steel plate, you can grind the weld through the grinder. This method of detachment is very convenient for you to use when you make products that are not difficult to inspect. But many companies don’t like this way. This is because there are weld marks and grinder marks. Depending on the situation in the field, you can work according to the situation. The following is a description of the keyhole method. There are several types of keyhole welding. The first method is to supply the weld rods from both walls. The tungsten’s moving from side to side Supply… Supply… Supply… there’s a welding procedure like this way Second, there’s a way to supply the weld rods only on one wall. Tungsten’s movements are the same as before. But the welding rod is only supplied in one direction. It’s only supplied in one direction like this way And thirdly, there’s a way to supply the welding rod to the middle. I’ll supply the welder… Move… Supplied… Move… There’s a way. If you look at it in a continuous motion, it’s like this. There’s this kind of keyhole welding. In particular, today we’re going to do welding by supplying the weld rods to one wall only. If you look at it in continuous motion, you can see this behavior. The nozzle has an internal diameter of 16mm. It’s the 10th largest. Tungstenil is about seven or eight. So we’re going to get this angle of progress, and we’re going to move the nozzle this way and we’re going to weld it. Next is the size of the gap. This is a 3.2mm welding rod. The gap is about 4mm wide. The welding sequence will start from here and then weld to the next steel plate. And then we’ll tear out the steel plates. When you rip out the iron plate, you twist it in a “tack-welded” direction to easily open it. If you twist it in this direction, it’ll come off easily. Let’s get started At the beginning, melt a single drop of hard-shing welding rod and attach it. As soon as the two pipes are connected, you can start welding. The current used 45 amps. Welding rod is 2.4mm. Here’s how to weld it. The nozzle movement is moving one step at a time, as if walking on the upper corners of both groove And the weld rods are only supplied from one wall. We’ll supply it from one wall. Then drag the molten pool to the other side. Next is moved back to a wall with electrode, please. Then you can supply it again. In this process, the keyhole is created naturally. Now, I’ve been supplying the welder, and I’ve removed the welder. But you can also weld it with a single wall without disconnecting the weld rod. Both methods have similar results. Welding may seem complicated. But if you try it yourself, it’s very simple. This welding method produces similar results in 1G and 3G. This is why it is often used in indoor shops to weld large pipes or large tanks around. The reason for this is that when welding large pipes or tanks, you use 3G posture a lot. And when the product is large, the width of the gap is not constant. If you use this method of welding, you can easily weld it. The advantages of this welding method are the same for “1G” and “3G”. And the molten pool is similar. And the technique is not difficult, so you can easily follow it if you try it a few times. It’s the biggest advantage. It’s easy and safe. And it also has the advantage of being filled with dust grooves. Because of these advantages, it’s a welding method that’s used in a lot of places. The disadvantage of this welding method is that the weld speed is a little slower than the welding method that leads the molten pool. And it’s difficult to weld the connections because it’s using low current That’s why you don’t do “direct-tack-welding” on pipes. So we use a lot of indirect “tack-welds” using bridge or steel plates or rebates like we do now. And at the end connection, make sure to grinding and sharpening the connection. These are some of the disadvantages, but the advantages are so great that it’s a welding method that’s used in a lot of places I’ve edited the rest of the video because it’s been repeated a lot and too long. So here’s an important part. If you take a closer look at the finish, it’s sharpened with a grinder. When you connect, make sure you connect slowly and firmly. The sharp edges of the grinder may not penetrate well because of the grooves. So supply each drop of weld rod to ensure penetration. You can also match the height of the weld to the other part. Final weld. The current used 60 amps. Welding rod is 2.4mm. I think the shooting went wrong this time. There are many different colors on the screen. I ask you to forgive me with your generosity. After back-bead welding, the welded surface is not smooth So when you do the next weld, you have to be careful to make it penetrate. But if you make the final weld wider, it may not work. In this situation, finer welding can reduce the chance of “poor penetration” a little. Welding is simple. You just need to tight move the nozzle Isn’t it simple? Note that if the torch movement is too slow, the temperature at the weld area may be too high, so it is recommended to move faster. And you need to focus on the end of the melt pool to make sure it’s going well. Advantages of this method of welding can reduce the probability of “poor penetration”. And you can fill in a lot of broken grooves. So this is a popular method of welding when welding using low current. And the downside is that the arm hurts because we use the ice fast for a long time. Due to the tightness of the weld, the weld speed is also a disadvantage. We have these advantages and disadvantages, so you can weld them for reference. So the weld is done. I need you to hold the crater at the end. So here’s the result. Today, we made a video about keyhole welding and dense bead. I’ll visit you again next time. My welding method is not necessarily the answer. But it’s one of the different welding methods that can be applied in a variety of situations, so I hope it helps. I hope this video will help all the welders grow up. Please press “Like.” If you “subscribe” and come to my channel, there’s a lot more welding videos. Thanks for watching.
